The Lord provided beautiful weather for our 2023 Ice Cream Social. July 30, 2023, was a great evening with ice cream, cornhole, music and fellowship. Thank you to LDS (Lee Delauter & Sons) for donating the delicious Hershey’s ice cream!

Looking Back: Salem began holding ice cream socials back in the 1980s on the parsonage front yard. A balloon launch was added in 2004. The event was moved to Salem’s new pavilion in 2012.
2015 Theme: A Tribute to Community Service
Special guests were teachers and staff of the Wolfsville Elementary School, members of the Wolfsville Ruritan Club, and members of the Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company.
In an effort to be more environmentally responsible, the balloon launch was discontinued in 2015. Here’s how it worked. Prior to the balloon launch, the person launching the balloon placed their name on a small yellow card which was attached to a helium-filled balloon. The laminated card had a ministry message and our return address, so that the person who found it could mail it back to the church. The distance traveled was calculated for the returned cards to see who’s balloon traveled the longest distance. The following list includes where our balloons were found.
